The best way to get yourself ready for a dental emergency is to prepare yourself ahead of time. This will help you keep a clear head while you take the right steps to save your tooth (or teeth) and to avoid wasting any time.

Of course, if you have an emergency in Woodinville, you should have the number of an emergency dentist on hand such as Woodin Creek Dental.

Read on for more tips.

Have a Regular Dentist You Can Call

If you haven’t kept up with regular examinations and cleanings in recent years, you are probably not established with an emergency dentist. There is nothing more comforting in the face of a dental emergency than being to call a familiar dentist and get advice on the best course of action.

Finding a dentist you can trust and who is available when you need one can be very calming in an emergency situation.

Put Together a Dental First-Aid Kit

Emergencies can happen any time, and if you don’t have to scramble for first-aid materials when you are facing a dire situation, you should have a kit set up ahead of time. Here’s all you need:

  • Your dentist’s contact information
  • A small container with a lid that you can use to store a knocked-out tooth in while you are on your way to the dentist
  • Gauze to bite down on should you need to stop bleeding

Stay Calm

It can be challenging to stay calm in an emergency situation, but keeping a level head is always preferred. Your first course of action should be to call your dentist. They can tell you whether or not your situation is one that needs to be addressed immediately, or if you can wait until the next available appointment.

As always, if you have suffered a trauma and are bleeding profusely or if you think you have broken your jaw, it’s best to head straight to the emergency room.

If you need an emergency dentist in Woodinville, call Woodin Creek Dental as soon as possible!

Root Canal treatment: Common misconceptions
Man in Dentist Chair | Woodin Creek Dental

The purpose of this month's post is to talk in depth about a commonly misunderstood procedure, the Root Canal!

1) "When you do a root canal on my tooth, I will be left with a dead tooth, right?"

This belief about a "dead tooth" resulting from a root canal is a very common belief. However, it is not true.
